This summer my sister, Heather had to take her son to Iowa. She decided to take me and my little sister along with all her kids. It was such an amazing experience. We went to Carthage Jail, where my testimony of Joseph Smith was reaffirmed. I know without a doubt that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and that he died for such a great cause. That cause still exists today. When we went to Nauvoo, Kelsie and Kamrin wanted to go everywhere and do everything. It was such a special experience to take the girls around Nauvoo. They listened so intently and even participated in the conversations. I am so grateful for the example these two little girls set for me. Later that day, we attended the pageant. It was an amazing experience. The saints were so intent on following the gospel and keeping the commandments that they gave up so much. I know that the gospel is true and that it is the only true church upon the Earth today.

Certified Nursing Assistant

I am currently enrolled in the Nursing Assistant Program. Education is so important in my life and I take every possible opportunity to continue with my learning experiences. I have realized that nursing assistants play a very important role in the health care field. They do some of the most important things to help ensure that patients/residents are comfortable. The class is very hands on and the people in my class get along well with each other. More opportunities will become available when I receive my CNA.

2009 In Review

Senior Prom: It was so exciting that I got asked to prom. My date was Jared Spackman. I loved getting the opportunity to dress up formally. Heather came down to do my hair and I got to take pictures with Kelsie, Kamrin, and Kyler.

Graduation: I received my high school diploma and graduated number eight in my class.

Sledding in July: A few families decided to go camping for the weekend in Nevada. When we got there their was a piece of snow that Jill Haney and I took Kelsie and Kamrin on. It was so much fun to go down the hill of snow and land in the mud!

River Trip: This summer I had the opportunity to go on a week long river trip with my sister's family. It was the best vacation ever. Nothing beats being on the river away from the chaos of the world. I even jumped off a few bridges, but I made my brother-in-law jump with me. The river was full of history, there were many stories of people who lived on the river. Thanks Heather and Josh for taking me with you!!!

College: I started my first semester of college at the College of Southern Idaho. My favorite things about college are the fast pace learning, the atmosphere, and the social aspect. I met so many new people and did so many new things in college.

Christmas in Canada

For Christmas this year my family and I went to Canada so we could spend the Holidays with my sister, Cristina and her family. The kids were so excited to open gifts on Christmas morning. It was so fun to help them unwrap their gifts, and they did a pretty good job unwrapping our presents too! I love when our family is together because much joy and happiness is felt and special moments are created.

Thankful

Thanksgiving is coming up soon and I want to expess my gratitude for all my many blessings. I am grateful for all those who have given support and love to me through hard times. I am grateful for the home I live in and the food I eat. I am grateful for my beautiful nieces and nephews. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to receive my education. I am grateful for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is a strength in my life. I am grateful for the atonement of Christ. I am thankful for my family and friends. There are so many more things that I am so grateful for.

In August, I started college at the College of Southern Idaho. I love attending school and filling my brain with knowledge. I am taking seventeen credits in two days. The other three days I nanny my sister's children. I am also living with my sister, Heather, right now,which I am so grateful for. She has been such a strength to me in my life. I also received a church calling in the Singles Branch in Filer. I am the Relief Society Second Counselor. It is so much fun to put together Relief Society Meetings. Life is so busy right now, but it is very rewarding.

Prom was so much fun. On the day date we played games and played tennis. We ate dinner at Nathan Baker's House. The dance was great. It was great to dress up.

Yesterday, I got my hair done my Dustin Shaw from Salon D' Shaw. It is very cute and very BLONDE. It is a very dramatic change that will take some time to get used to!

Emergency Room

The day after Preference, I woke up in a lot of pain. I went to the emergency room and was there for four hours. The lining in my stomach is damaged and I had some infections. I am feeling much better today.

attacked, and played games. I started vomiting. I was so mad. We had dinner at Shawnae's house and got ready there. The theme was Blast from the Past so we decided to go with the 80's. The dance was so much fun. We also watched a movie and went to Jake's over the top More Pictures coming.....

B.A.D.

I got voted to be the B.A.D President. I am very excited. I am also the Queen Candidate for the B.A.D team. This year are theme is Latin America. It is time to study, study, and study some more. Our upcoming event is the Block Party at Burley High School on Wednesday September 17.

Summer

Wow! It has been a long time since I have blogged anything. Anyways I am now living in Filer with my sister and have been going crazy. I take the girls to the movies, dance classes and anything else that needs to be done. I babysit whenever I am needed. The Youth Cultural Celebration is going fantastic. It is a lot of work and time consuming but it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is such an awesome experience and I am very grateful that I get to be in it. I am not getting a job, I am just going to help my sister, Heather. I am not going to the American Idol Concert since I chose to go to the Utah Jazz game with my mom. It was amazing. We went to the 6th game in round one.

Summer Plans

This summer I plan to go to Filer and get a job. I want to help out my sister, Heather. She is great fun to be with. I also plan on touring some colleges so that I can make a final decision on which on to attend. I also plan on going to the American Idol Concert. I am a big fan and love to watch American Idol each week. I might take the ACT over again, if I get really ambitious. I also plan to be in the temple celebration if everything works out! I am going to lose weight and have an amazing summer.

Earthquake

On Wednesday I was starting to wake up for the day and suddenly my bed starts shaking and then the mirror on my wall keeps moving. It was so weird, but it was a good experience to live through an earthquake. It was pretty cool, but it was not so cool in wells, Nevada where the earthquake was a 6.0. There were no lives taken only damage to homes and businesses.

Gordon B. Hinckley

Gordon B. Hinckley passed January 27, 2008. He was an amazing Prophet of God. The progression of the Church was rapid while President Hinckley was Prophet. I am so grateful for all the things he has taught me. I know that he is in a better place now, reunited with his wife. I hope that the members of the church will be able to move on and support the next president of the church so that the progression will go on. I love President Gordon B. Hinckley, he is an amazing example to me.

Burley Academic Decathlon

Today I had the opportunity to participate in the Regionals Academic Decathlon. It was so much fun and was a great learning experience. Our topic this year is on the Civil War. We write an essay, give a prepared speech, an impromptu speech, interview, and take a series of tests on the Civil War subjects. Also there is a relay where you are asked five questions and an adult raises their hand if you got it right. It was an awesome experience. I also learned that I know more about the Civil War than I thought I did. I will probably know the results by Monday!!!

Christmas & The New Year

Christmas was a little different this year. We had Christmas Eve in November so that we could celebrate with Cristina and her family. They live in Canada and could not come down for Christmas. This was the first year without them, which made my Christmas so different. On the real Christmas Eve, we went to Twin Falls and had dinner with Heather and her family. I love you and miss you and I hope that your Christmas was awesome. I received a Cricut, a digital die-cut system, which is so awesome and many other things. I hope that this Christmas we all remembered the true meaning of Christmas and remembered Christ's birth.

1. To get a Doctorate in Scripture Mastery.
2. To be a better sister.

4. To finish out my junior year.
5. To work more on my personal progress.

Eagle Scout

I am so proud of my brother, Craig. He has received his Eagle Scout Award. What an honor that is. I love my brother and am so excited for him and the chance he has to live as an Eagle Scout. This is a huge accomplishment and I commend him for getting this award.

Halloween Birthday Party

This year I decided to do something different for my birthday this year. Since my birthday is so close to Halloween I decided to have a party on Halloween. It was in a big army tent in my backyard. We played a game where you had to pick an item from the bag when the music stopped. This item had to be worn somehow. It was so fun!! We also watched the movie Disturbia. It was good but kind of creepy. I want to thank all of those we attended my party or gave me gifts for my birthday. I really appreciate it. The party took much planning and preparation. My mom made most of the food with a little help from me. Some of the food included twice baked potatoes, calzones, pretzels with cheese, cake, and cookies. We also had homemade root beer. Emily and Kirsten helped me decorate for the party. Whew! I cannot believe that I am seventeen!

National History Day

It is time to start working on National History Day again! This will be my fourth year competing in the history competition. I am working with Emily Greenman and we our doing our project on the Minidoka Japanese Internment Camp. We recently visited the actual site where the camp was. There is not much left, mostly just some debris and a few buildings. We also went to the Jerome County Museum. Here they have a exhibit of the Japanese Internment Camps. They also had some materials about the Internment Camp. I am very excited for history day this year.

Homecoming Night

The people in my group included Tianna Heiner & Trevor Jones, and Zach Jensen & me. We went to Zach's house for dinner. His mom made us dinner. It was so nice. There was candles on the table and we used formal dishes. We had Sparkling Cider, Rice, Carrots, and Seasoned Chicken. It was very delicious. For desert, we had a fancy ice cream desert. Then Tianna and I went to my house to get ready. We had to put our dresses on, do our hair, and put make-up on. I wore four inch heals, and they lasted about a second. I took them off when we got to the dance. When the boys came to pick us up, we had a hard time putting the boutonnières on. My corsage was very pretty. Thank you Zach. My dad ended up putting Zach's on, and my brother put Trevor's on. When we got to the dance we had our pictures taken. Then we danced for a while. It was so fun and entertaining. Then we went back to Zach's house to watch the movie, The Holiday. It was a good show, but I didn't get to finish watching it. Zach took everyone home. I had a good time with Zach at the Homecoming Dance.

Scavenger Hunt

Zach and I went on a Scavenger Hunt in Twin Falls.I bought a new outfit for the occasion. Zach opened the doors for me. It was something I was not used to, but very sweet! Cristina and Wayne came with us. It was date against date. We had to run around Twin Falls, and find certain things. Some of these things include the Snake River, Utopia, ghost, RV, and many other things. It was so much fun. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen and shared all that we had found. Cristina and Wayne won!

Homecoming

I was asked to homecoming yesterday. It was dark outside, and I heard a knock on the door. Then my sister, Cristina, shouted my name. At that moment I realized what was going on. I heard the a car screech away. The note said, " Will you chill with me in Times Square?" Our theme this year is a Night in Times Square. There was a box of ice cream that I had to dig through to find who had asked me. Zach, one of my friends, asked me. I am so excited, I have to find a dress!!!!

Twilight

Twilight is a fantastic book, which I am in the process of reading. I have really enjoyed it, and I recommend it to everyone for reading. It is an awesome story about romance and vampires. It is a very pleasant book. I am always so excited to pick up this book and just read!
